Welcome to Koprivnica, proud host of the 2026 Balkan Wrestling Championship.
Located in the heart of northern Croatia, Koprivnica is a city with a rich sporting tradition, strong community spirit and long-standing excellence in wrestling. Known for its safety, hospitality and modern sports infrastructure, Koprivnica provides the ideal setting for young athletes to compete at the highest regional level.
With a history dating back to the 13th century, the city today represents an important economic, educational and sporting centre of the region. As the home of Wrestling club Podravka, Koprivnica has played a significant role in the development of Croatian wrestling and has proudly produced numerous national team members and international medalists.
In 2026, more than 800 athletes from 13 Balkan countries will gather here under the auspices of United World Wrestling, making this championship one of the most important youth wrestling events in the region.
We are honoured to welcome athletes, coaches, officials and guests to our city and look forward to a week of top-level competition, fair play and unforgettable sporting moments.
